Who We Are

William Hartley Designs was born after business owner Will, fell in love with creating inspiring, handcrafted wooden spaces whilst he worked for Sliver Custom Design & Finishing in Calgary, Canada. Working under the business owners, Dustin and Marco, William gained invaluable design experience and was truly inspired by their passion for their craft, and commitment to delivering outstandingly luxurious bespoke furniture & designs. 

In 2012, motivated by his time spent in Canada, Will returned to his hometown of Petersfield and set up his own workshop, under William Hartley Designs.

A prolific wanderlust’er, Will’s work is inspired by his travels. Hints of Neoclassical, Baroque and Renaissance are seen in his finished work, whilst the finished product exudes a modern and contemporary feel. 

Will believes that each project is as unique as the people that commission them and his aim is to deliver a dream. As such, his approach is to work really closely with his clients to produce the initial designs and establish the dream, once approved the bespoke pieces are crafted, before being expertly installed and quality checked by Will. 

With a focus on quality, scrupulous attention to detail and a high end luxury finish, Wills designs allow you to fall in love with your home over and over again. 

Developing lasting connections has been instrumental in the success of William Hartley Designs, having collaborated on projects in London, Southern England, Scotland, and as far afield as Munich, Germany! Alongside Will, a team of talented craftsmen are on hand for larger projects.

To this day, Will still works closely with the original design team in Canada, and continues to bring classical function, exquisite finishing, and elegant comfort to clients homes throughout the UK and Europe.
